Q. How do I apply to the Brebeuf IT AP Program?

Q. How do I apply to the Brebeuf IT AP Program?

Q. How do I apply for IT AP?

Q. Will I be notified of the IT AP Screening Test after I apply?

You should receive an email reminding you of the Screening test after the application deadline. In the event that you don't hear from us, please show up to the test. 

Q. How do I get my teacher to write my referral?

The SOAR application site will automatically send an email to your school principal. The principal may choose to complete it or forward it to a teacher. Note that we prefer that your grade 7 teacher complete it if possible. If your teacher did not receive the referral via email, please follow up with the principal or use this referral form. Note that any referrals must be be sent to us directly.via email or interoffice mail to Brebeuf.STEM@gmail.com.

Q. How many IT AP students will you accept?

2 cohorts for a total of 50-60 students. Our committee aims to accept students that are seeking enrichment and that have demonstrated an ability to engage in an enriched curriculum. 

Q. Can I write on another day if I have a conflict?

Please email us with the reason and proof of reason and we will do our best to accommodate you. 

Q. What if I don't get into IT AP?

We have many IT AP opportunities outside of IT AP! We have a IT AP ICT program where students engage and are trained in several high-tech initiatives. Our IT AP teachers teach similar courses outside of IT AP, such as Engineering, Computer Science, Math, and more. FIT certificates and IT AP may also be available. Brebeuf is a state of the art facility that offers curriculum across diverse technologies and platforms. Robotics is also available in club.

Q. When will I find out if I have been accepted?

The TCDSB SOAR date for specialty programs is no sooner than December 1st, 2021.

Q. SOAR is auto-uploading a different report card. What do I do?

October 20, 2022: We are experiencing a few technical difficulties with SOAR and we greatly apologize for this inconvenience. If SOAR is not uploading the grade 7 report card, please send it to Brebeuf.STEM@gmail.com and we will be sure to keep it on file. Thank you for your patience.
