IT AP at Brebeuf is an engaging program for students who want to gain expertise in valuable 21st Century skills through a specialized cohorted enriched curriculum in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.
Brebeuf’s Congregated IT AP program is designed to develop innovative thinking skills to prepare students to prosper in an ever-progressing, technologically complex modern economy. Through hands-on real-world learning experiences, students acquire transferable and high-demand skills that develop 21st Century competencies, such as critical thinking, collaboration, problem solving, and communication.
Our IT AP program encourages students to be well rounded competitors while pursuing their personal interests and maximizing on their post secondary potential.
IT AP students have a competitive advantage through fast tracking in courses and acquiring Advanced Placement credits as early as Grade 11 in Math (AB & BC), Science, Computer Science (A), and English.
IT AP students have many enrichment opportunities presented throughout high school, including specialty trips, projects, industry and university partnership programs, university contests, and exclusive IT AP contests.
Expectations and Rewards
Students must maintain an overall average of 70%. or more to remain in the IT AP program.
Upon completing the program, at graduation students will receive a IT AP Medallion.
IT AP students with an overall 80%+ average across their Grade 11 & Grade 12 Computer Science Courses, qualify to receive the FIT Certificate in Software Development at graduation, issued by the Information and Technology Council of Canada (ICTC).
